Thief™ 3: Deadly Shadows

Desperately needs to be fixed

Desperately needs to be added to the GOG Preservation Program. I recently tried running it on Steam, and couldn't change the game. I then bought it of GoG, and now I can't adjust the gamma, nor change the difficulty to anything other than Normal, and even the latest Sneaky Upgrade (1.1.5) it will not fix those problems. Manually adjusting the brightness/gamma in the Default.ini file will not change it in-game either. The game was not the best in the series, but with the unofficial Sneaky Upgrade patch, it fixed a bunch of the annoying shortcomings, such as the obnoxious frequent loadi zones that existed due to system/console hardware limitations at he time of release and lowered it's score. Unfortunately, not being able to adjust gamma or difficulty leaves in an unplayable/unenjoyable mess, since most of the gameplay takes place in/depends on shadows and a lot of the enjoyment comes from being able to set the level of challenge to the desired level, so it desperately needs a fix or maybe Win XP/Win 8 emulation to work on current systems properly.

BloodRayne: Terminal Cut

Dishonest reviwers

All the high scores must be from people who were really nostalgic, because they're dishonest sht. I attempted playing it a few years ago, and when the camera wasn't absolutely horrible & getting me killed, the controls and gameplay mechanics were horrible and killed all fun. Saying the live-action movie was an abomination that didn't do the game justice is a gross exaggeration, the game wasn't much better. It's better off just remaining fond a memory of one's youth.

Quake II RTX

Meh 🤷‍♂️

Jt's ok as an RTX tech demo I suppose, but the crappy textures really ruin the experience. Someone was working on upgrading to HD textures; Lightspeed Studios™ / NVIDIA should really contact him ahout using the, or add their own.

Hitman: Blood Money

Win 11- NOPE!

The game itself WAS decent, but even with the latest version, unofficial widescreen/HD resolution patch, changing start & compatibility settings (OP, run as Admin, color modes, etc.) , I still couldn't get it to run. I was able to get it to start a couple of times, but I don't know why, and every other time it froze and crashed to the desktop - don't think it's my PC, I can run Crysis with my 4070.. I recommend getting the Xbox HD bundle (Blood Money & Absolution) from Microsoft if you REALLY feel the urge to play it (I was able to run Absolution on my PC though) . It runs on XB One and XB Series S/X, so as long as you have one, it should always run (hardware & OS aren't always changing as with the PC). It's only available for Xbox as a bundle, not by itself.

Yakuza Complete Series

NOT Complete

Where is Yakuza: Like a Dragon?? This is NOT the complet series, they are LIARS. It's also scummy to call something complete and then NOT include all DLC. If DLC is not included, it's not a complete game.

Blade Runner

The Blade Runner you're looking for.

If you're interested in Blade Runner, this is the version you want, not the "Enhanced" Edition. The Enhanced Edition is trash. How can one "enhance" a game to be worse than the original that came out over 2 decades ago?? It's really puzzling. The enhanced edition smooths out video artifacts, removing subtle details such as McCoy's beard, the game doesn't register shots about 60-70% of the time, and the videos constantly freeze. In the Enhanced Edition, it seems like they may have just used a de-noise filter on the video, which makes it less pixelated, but denoising will also remove subtle detail that made the game what it was/what it was intended to be. In my opinion, the original Blade Runner looks better even with all the pixelation, and that it actually makes it look more realistic, because reality has imperfections, and it makes it seem a bit more gritty. In this edition, the video also loads instantly, and things simply work as intended; the Enhanced Edition looks and runs like the work was outsourced to some cheap Indian/Chinese studio in order to save money and wasn't beta-tested. I bought the enhanced edition, but only because it included and was somehow cheaper the original version (go figure). The only way I recommend buying the Enhanced Edition to anyone is because it's cheaper and includes this version - I guess it was so bad they had to create some type of incentive in order to be able to sell it.
