Just love how they with the use of modern day memory can go back and build new content for such an "old engine" . And this is way more than just a fan-fiction. It's the real deal. Shows that everything doesn't have to be about the latest pixel shader, and that there is still some juice and corners left in decades old sript systems to explore aside from the Sword Coast itself that is.
Miss the medievel setting of the first one, but it makes up for it with a bunch of fancy features. And you can even listen to the tune from settlers 1 in the ingame midi-player so it's ok ;) The problem with the game is that the core element of building a infrastructure is a nice timekiller, and much more fun than to really finish the levels. Don't miss the hotkeys "V" for accelerated mode if you don't like waiting for ages while your goods are being transported around your entire kingdom.
