This is a huge love letter to Sierra's Colonel's Bequest with similar layout and mechanics. It lacks the flaws of it's ancestor and both the story and gameplay feel way smoother. Great game if you feel the itch for an oldschool detective game :)
This is simply one of the best adventure games I ever played and which finally scratched that itch for a "true" point and click experience of old. The pixel art is beautiful, voice acting is great, characters are funny and memorable, story is engaging, every scene is brimming with life... Instant classic for me.
