While the story is interesting and the graphics are more than beautiful, the core game loop is so repetitive I just can't stand it. Small tasks require no thinking at all and keep repeating all the time. Also, there is just a handful of different enemies. Don't fall for the hype, one of the biggest letdowns of 2017 for me.
Hob has a new twist on the basic Zelda-formula: you change the world in spectacular fashion as you progress. And there's one other thing nobody seems to mention: there are no boss battles. Instead you need to find your way through the landscape. This may not sound as exciting as fighting huge bosses, but really was a revelation to me. Don't think about it, just go get it.
Played the first Darksiders, but never finished it as I got bored by the combat. Darksiders II has much better pacing and motivated me to go through the end. Has a nice flow of puzzles and combat. Happy that I got it on sale - otherwise I would have missed an awesome journey. And: even though I don't enjoy the over-the-top art direction the environments were really impressive and change a lot during the game. I recommend adding reshade though, as the whole thing greatly benefits from some sharpness. Awesome game!
