S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

Truly a series of its own

I guess most of the other reviews in here sum up the general sentiment I feel towards S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC myself: It can't really be explained, might be a little jagged and harsh at times; and it will spellbind you with its unique atmosphere. I loved this game the first time I played it, and loved it even more the second time around some fifteen years later. The only thing I don't love about this game is that small sequence of the song "Dirge for planet" they constantly keep playing on (indestructible, believe me) radios throughout the entire game. I don't even remember my first impression to that song anymore. The incessant repetition has made it the most gruesome piece of music I can be exposed to. But asides from that; I love this game.
