The game-play is very intense and more battle oriented than the original. Often you barely have enough time to shoot all the enemies and there's more ammunition available than you can possibly use. Of course you can also use stealth approach, but the main character is nicknamed "Psycho" for a reason. There are a few new weapons and vehicles to use and the nanosuit is just as fun to use as in the first installment. The plot is average. Those who were disappointed by the final boss fight in the original will not be disappointed here.
A major change from previous installments is the disguise system. Now, wearing an outfit you will be recognized by someone of the same profession. While it's an interesting addition it makes disguises much less useful. Furthermore, on many occasions you start a level with guards/police already on high alert. This forces you to do much more sneaking. Often, the best way to advance is to throw random stuff to distract guards and eliminate them one by one which is repetitive, and if you make a mistake you have to start over. There are no saves in this game only checkpoints which have an annoying bug - if you start from a checkpoint the level is reset - all guards you subdued are back, negating your progress. The levels are much more lively. NPC chat with each other and I often stopped just to listen to some of their dialogue. This is a welcome change, though I missed the ominous silence of the earlier games. Some of the climate is lost. Graphics deserve a praise. Locations are detailed, textures are high quality, shadows and lighting make o great impression. Unfortunately, levels are much more linear and often don't provide alternative methods to approach your targets. The plot is very dumb. An affluent weapons manufacturer gets into troublesome and dangerous affairs only to demand measly $10 million ransom? A group of latex-clad nuns in stiletto boots working as assassins? The hitman agency deploying a small army? If you're new to the series - add 1 star to this review.
