I just bought this game. Installed it, getting excited, but then it crashes to desktop all the time after showing two intro WMV files. My laptop uses Intel HD graphics, so it wouldn't be a PhysX problem, right? Nothing works. Dammit.
If you love and grew up with JRPG, this game is a must. I played this on PS Vita, a gazillion years ago, and still want to play again. Just like the other "Legend of" title, I haven't finished it yet, because it's so damn long. This one is not as long as the other, but still very long. I've just recently found out its' also been released on Nintendo Switch. That's the perfect kind of device to play this kind of game--trust me. Pretty much like the Vita days, but with better and much BIGGER screen. Heheh.
I played this game way back then, on my PS Vita. The game is seriously AWESOME if you love JRPG. But it's SO DAMN LOOOOOOOONG and complex--the dialogs are almost always winding, not to mention NPCs that all have their own dialogs and will change with the changes in the world and what you do in the game. It gets boring at times. I remember I feel asleep s few times, playing it. So damn long and winding I never got the chance to actually finish it. I'd love to finish it. Sure. But not on the PC. There's no effin way I'm playing this with keyboard and mouse. Lol. Nu-uh. I'd love to play it again on a device like Nintendo Switch. What's that? Steam Deck? if only the price is not THAT ridiculous, I'd buy it. All in all, it's a good game I would really love to complete. Some day. Heh.
I’m playing this game on my M1 Mac Mini. At this point I’ve managed to get to Ivory Sanctum, in Chapter 3 if I’m not mistaken. And I have to tell you, it's the absolute BUGGIEST point in the game! All other places besides are fine. Just in this location I experience graphical artifacts and even got stuck with the dreaded whirling rainbow ball for a very long time until the system finally just got hanged and I am forced to Force Quit the software. After trying to play it again and again, hoping to somehow passing the bugged point somewhat (despite not knowing exactly where because all I know is about two minutes of entering the sanctum the screen begins to flash odd purple crap and other graphical artifacts). The last hang was so severe the pathfinder.app refused to be Forced Quit, even with the Steam.app shutdown, and I had to hard boot the Mac by pressing the power button for a long time. Dammit. I seriously love the game, but this bug makes me feel like I was cheated by buying an actually BROKEN SOFTWARE!
Yeah, turns out it works well on my base model of M1 Mac Mini (just like Baldur's Gate 3 does). But it was RATHER slow to instal. It stuck on 75% for a very long time during installation, plus you need to set the file eligible to be run and opened on the system. And it takes a considerably long time as well when it runs for the first time (but runs extremely fast after that). Everything is smooth sailing after that. You can even open many desktop screens at the same time with the game's running and do everything else on your computer, without a hitch. The game is able to run on the highest settings with no problem whatsoever. As for the game itself, though, I certainly love the graphics. But compared to Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Pathfinder Kingmaker LACKS in terms of sympathetic storyline and character development. It's rather dry, even. I will update this review as I dig deeper into the game.
I bought the PS4 version, because it's impossible to play Cyberpunk 2077 on my MacBook Air 2017. I seriously LOVE the game BUT the bugs are killing me! Today it's been crashing on me 4 times already! The last bug I found was that enemies suddenly become invincible, right after I bought the rocket hand cyberware from Victor. I don't know if it was because of the said cyberware or something else, but I was doing fine hours previously. And then I loaded the savegame prior to that change, tried to find some enemies, found one, and just when I tried to kill him with my mantis ware, it crashed. Again. Then I came here to rant.
