If you've any love at all for the classic, 90's LucasArts-era point & click adventures, Owlsgard will fit you like a warm blanket. The art style and interface are absolutely spot-on, the story's captivating, the characters charming and memorable, and the voice acting is simply perfect. Pretty original too, in terms of setting and what happens in the story. In short; highly, highly recommended!
I could write volumes about The Excavation of Hobb's Barrow. Not only did the game have me hooked from start to finish, bringing me back to the point & click glory days of yore, but it honestly stands as a modern classic. Always a sucker for Lovecraftian stories, this one simply does it right. The characters are fantastic -- most especially the main protagonist, whose phenomenal voice acting totally drew me in -- the graphics and visual style are simply spot on, the atmosphere wonderful, the puzzles engaging, and music and sound are stellar. I couldn't wait to explore more of this world and to see where the narrative was going, which for me is the mark of a truly great title. Highly, highly recommended; I'd give a sixth star if I could =)
