This is a classic game, certainly. I notice a couple of reviews claim it doesn't work on Windows 10. It worked for me, aside from one annoyance. The "Game Preference" options can't be changed. Clicking on the titles for each option does nothing. That may not be a major issue for some people, but if like me you want to change those option, it is because I can't play the game without changing them.
This is a classic -top-down wargame, originally known as "Close Combat V, Invasion Normandy", but now revamped and renamed as "The Longest Day". I spent many hours playing the original in days long gone, but that no longer works properly with Windows 10 (there's a speed glitch on the scrolling), so i was looking forward to playing it again with this newly polished version. However. It was not to be. The game installed but the 5 included patches were pointless as each attempted install of those was met with a message that the game was more up to date than the patch. Then neither the launch link placed on the desktop during the install or the link in the game folder itself work. They simply open up a splash screen with an advert to other games and access to some very basic settings options, nothing else. And there's no button anywhere to launch the game. I've scoured the internet and can't find any other mention of this problem, therefore no solution, so I've had to give up and uninstall. So for that reason, 1 star....when it should really be a zero.
