It's no surprise that the Developers Frictional Games are masters at doing horror, and this is no exception. Knowing that they also made Amnesia and Penumbra, you know you're in good hands (or bad hands if you're a chicken like me). Soma is, above all else, story based. Its a HEAVILY atmospheric game that tries to unsettle and disturb you before actually scare you. It builds up tension at a steady pace and makes you incredibly paranoid as you wander around the dead and abandoned installations deep bellow the ocean. But above all else, it makes you question your existance, and what makes you...you. It's a philosofical game more than anything else, with incredibly horrifying monsters.
