I am uncertain I will even be able to start this game. I am just into the 2nd mission and wow but the controls on this are horrendous! I have never seen a game with such anti-intuitive and backwards controls. Maybe this was originally a console port, I don't know, but it is very difficult to select your ships, giving orders is a nightmare and the ease at which you can change or cancel a command is staggering. Meanwhile the game runs during cut scenes so you get to sit back and watch the enemy wipe out your forces and are helpless to defend while the ship contoller blathers on and on about this and that. It would be one thing to get your briefing and then get attacked as pretty much every other game out there but having to sit, unable to interact with your forces while the enemy rips you a new one and listen to the Mothership Controller list off your objectives while the enemy destroys your fleet is beyond annoying.
Well after playing it once and being unable to finish the final battle I read helpful hints, watched youtube videos of how easy it was, how to manage your characters and dove in for a 2nd time making my characters even more powerful than before. I got to the final battle, and once again it was a slaughter as every boss I had killed returned to life at the same time plus the Source King and Kraken. I could do nearly 1,500 damage per hit but when your enemies have superman speed and so much armor and health it would take 10 turns of all of your party focusing on just one enemy there was no hope fighting against 5 bosses and a super boss. This game was a colossal waste of time and money. I won't even go into the extreme ease at which you can inflict friendly fire and even accidentally attack your own party/the wrong enemy or move your character while just trying to get a viewing angle you can use.
