As someone who played the original Pharaoh, I understand some of the critiques made of this version. Ultimately though, the game works as designed: It runs smoothly on a modern PC with good resolution options, the interface is clean, and the overall visual presentation is excellent. The core gameplay of the original is represented well and remains very good. The new method of resolving military conflict may not be everyone's favorite, but I can understand why they went the route that they did considering that this is a city builder and not an RTS like Age of Empires. Overall, this is a good option for playing Pharaoh on a modern PC.
