Some of the 1 star reviews on here mentioned the "drama" between Sseth and the developers. If you actually look into it you'll find that Sseth basically "challenged" his MILLIONS OF VIEWERS to go to the games Discord and try to get banned, so it's not like the devs just started "being mean" to his fans for no reason. He was obviously joking, but you can imagine what that poor Discord server must have looked like after his review aired. Now, based on some interviews, the devs do seem to be kinda douchy and pretentious, but I don't blame them for moderating their Discord more harshly after it got flooded with hundreds of thousands of edgy zoomers trying to top each others gross ass "suggestions" and comments. You're not the victims here, Tzeentach fans.

I loved this game in the 90's and I still love it today. It's one of the greatest shoot em ups ever made The only thing I find a little lackluster is the weapon variety, but that's my fault for letting Jets 'n Guns Gold spoil me.

Paradox is a f*cking scam company. Every single game they publish has at least a dozen DLCs, and it's almost always just content that's already in the game but locked behind a paywall. Stop buying Paradox games. This is a scam, not business model, and it needs to stop.

Let's not look at this through rose-colored glasses, please. I absolutely love this game, but holy fracking frisky grandma Batman, It. Is. A. MESS. The combat is janky, weird and unsatisfying, there are barely any weapons and armor to choose from, there's all sorts of bugs and the whole thing just gets progressively worse and worse right down to the last minute where you can get one of 3(?) different endings, but they all feel like placeholders. By the time I reached the last hour of the game I felt like it was about to completely fall apart. This is NOT a finished product and charging 20$ for it is simply a rip off. On the plus side, the game really is one of a kind. It has a very cool, soothing yet ominous atmosphere, it's the perfect game for a rainy night. I loved the soundtrack, the setting, the quests and dialogues are well written, engaging and fun, there are lots of cool and interesting details that help to bring the story and the world to life, the characters are memorable, some of them lovable and somehow, they have much better facial animations than characters in today's releases. I can't help but feel sorry for the developers, because it's obvious that this game was handled with a lot of love and care, and I know that it really could have been a HUGE hit, had they had more time and resources to complete the project. You should definitely try it if you ever wanted to be a cool vampire dishing out toothy justice to the denizens of the underworld, but you should know that in terms of gameplay it's far, FAR from perfect. There is an unofficial patch out there somewhere that is a MUST if you want to enjoy this game as much as possible. It fixes a lot of things and even restores some cut content.

I completed the first game before getting into the sequel, and it wasn't a very pleasant experience. Horrible design choices, an uninteresting story with cliché characters and bugs. The atmosphere, however, was pretty good. It had a cheesy B movie vibe. The Evil Within 2 just steers right into that B movie vibe. It doesn't try too hard, there's a couple tongue-in-cheek jokes here and there, and the gameplay itself is lightyears ahead of its predecessors. Almost everything that was poorly implemented and frustrating in the first game was fixed in the second one, and the semi-open world setting works really well too. It feels less linear, and much better built than the first game in every aspect. The plot is still mediocre at best, but even that is better and more engaging than the first games was. If you played the first game and didn't think it was a total waste of your time, you should try this one too. If you haven't played the first one, but you're looking for a fun horror themed TPS, I can still recommend The Evil Within 2. I think it's the best game in this particular genre/sub-genre since The Suffering 2.

This could have been one of the biggest hits of the decade, if not the century, but it's practically unplayable without mods, and even with mods it's a struggle. Some mechanics don't seem to work at all, moving around is clunky and unpleasant, the entire in-game economy can just collapse on itself at any moment during your campaign. I almost feel like crying thinking about the wasted potential here, because, honestly, the core concept of the game is so unique and interesting, there's literally nothing like it on the market to this day. It's a perfect mix of RPG, management and trading sim. It's like if Sword of the Samurai had a baby with the Sims and it was raised by The Settlers. It could have been a genre defining masterpiece, but it ended up in a bargain bin with a bunch of 1 star reviews. The biggest tragedy is that The Guild 3 could have redeemed this franchise, but it came out just as unfinished and broken as 1 & 2. No publisher will ever even touch this franchise again, so there's no hope for salvation...
