This review is post-launch and not from early access. This game was clearly a labor of love. The characters, story/writing and gameplay are top notch. The game is regularly updated, which not only fixes bugs but also adds content that wasn't available at launch. The characters are the best part of this game. Each companion is interesting and has their own personal quest that can dramatically change the story, either in how it ends to their entire personality and powers. If you don't care about story as much, there is plenty for you in gameplay. Combat is difficult and strategic and you also have many different ways to build your own custom character, as well as each of your companions so each encounter/playthrough is different. Additionally, exploration is key. You will naturally see a lot of the game without exploration, but putting in the extra effort can help you find entirely new hidden dungeons/areas/items/quests that you would never know were there without a guide.
