Homecoming at launch was a bit disapointing, and CD project took their time to fix the issues that it created. But with the recent patches as of january 2019, i feel Gwent is indeed a great card game: every factions have multiples viable decks, with many different strategies and playstyles. The game is super generous for those tired of the grind of other games, and there is a world of possibilities with new expansions (one said to be coming in this semester,can't wait!)
