Betrayal at Krondor must have been the first RPG I ever played. It must have done something right, because since then I've loved RPGs, both computer and P&P. The game is suprisingly easy to get into, however it is also quite easy to get lost in it. Interesting story and simple enough first goal get you started quickly. Both inventory and combay system work nicely and they are easy to learn. Selecting skills you want your characters to focus on give opportunity to develop the characters in the way you want. All the basic elements of an RPG, they're all there and they're all working just right. However, keep in mind the things people say, even more so the further you get in the game. There ain't quest log to check when you get lost, so listen good and carefully what those NPCs say. Saving a game to return to it a month or two later may cause some problems. I've never had the pleasure of playing the game all the way through myself, but even playing those first few chapters all over again every now and then is guaranteed fun every single time.
