Stranglehold

One Of Midway's Best Games: Stranglehold

Stranglehold is a game developed by Midway and Tiger Hill Entertainment, released on September 5, 2007. It is the sequel to the film Hard Boiled. The player assumes the role of Tequila Yuen, and along with her, they defeat enemies and bosses. Now, let's move on the game's rewiew. Story And Characters Stranglehold begins with the murder of a police officer. Tequila Yuen is assigned to investigate. Meanwhile, Tequila's wife and daughter are kidnapped. Tequila Yuen must track down both the police officer's killer and the kidnappers. I actually liked the story of the game, although it may sound cliché (while writing this rewiew). but story is good. It's not stolen. Gameplay The game has easy-to-learn controls and smooth gameplay. Personally, I had no trouble with the controls. You control the character from a third, person perspective. The camera angle is good. You can play the game with ease. Graphics The graphics are quite good for 2007. Both Tequila's appearance and the skins used in the game look pretty good. The game engines have also supported the graphics quite well, and the game is a plus (there's a "dead men dancing" bug in some places). Atmosphere Although the atmosphere of the game feels like Max Payne, its extra features and music make you feel like you're playing a separate game. Music The music used in the game is another plus, as it's excellent and immerses you in the game's atmosphere. The more you listen do it, the more you'll want to play it. Artificial Intelligence The AI is good. Both the enemies and the bosses are well-done. It's not F.E.A.R., but it's still good. Bosses Boss battles are sometimes difficult and sometimes easy. If you're not good at killing bosses, improve yourself first, then buy this game. Extra Features There's "Bullet Time" in the game, but it's called "Tequila Time". Using it, you can kill your enemies and bosses more easily. There are first aid boxes in the game, you can renew your health by picking them up. The game also features abilites that unlock as you kill enemies: health regeneration, close-range fire, sustained fire, and spinning fire. These abilites allow you to kill enemies and bosses more easily. Final Word Stranglehold has become my favourite game. It's Midway's best game since Psi Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, gameplay, graphics, atmosphere, music, AI, bosses and extra features, so I recommend this game to everyone. My Rating: 82/100
