It looks like you remember it looked (which isn't how it actually looked) and while it has some jankiness to it, once you get used to the controls and camera it's very fun, a great adventure game.
Great game, and the soundtrack is my absolute favorite game soundtrack ever. Lots of options and branching paths, although all are a bit morally gray-ish.
...give us the same version Steam gives us, with integrated Widescreen option. Installing it by your own for the GoG version causes Windows security errors that make playing the game impossible. Game is fantastic otherwise.
Worse than MM6 and MM7, and feels unfinished. Balancing, if that's important to you, is basically nonexistant. There are Mods out there, but most change up just a little too much for my taste.
