Fallout 3 is still a great game nowadays, but the current iteration is a flip of the coin whether it will run at all or not. I'm on a PC with Windows 11 and it practically laughed at me when I tried to run it. Even after looking up workarounds, nothing worked. Even a great game isn't worth much if you can't play it.

If you look fondly on The 7th Guest and don't have a copy of it, this version might be for you. If that's not the case, I would stay away from it. The remaster graphics are basically a slight uprez of the resolution, while smoothing out the edges, leaving everything with a bit of a blurry pastiche. The music has been upgraded from the original midis, but still sounds like they always have. MojoTouch left in the ability to revert the graphics and sound to the originals and it's a bit of a toss which looks better most of the time. The best additions, by far, are the improvements to movement. Everything moves at a faster rate and you can skip forward by clicking the right mouse button. To add to accessibility, they included the option to highlight interactive areas. They also included a map of the mansion, noting the rooms where you solved puzzles, which isn't something I remember from the original release. However, this port still has some major issues. This includes occasional black screens on load, which you have to click out of and click back into to get to work, which doesn't always fix it, forcing a reboot. One time, this included reverting to earlier saves to get around the issue. It also includes occasional glitches, such as going through the sewer grate, the maze, and the tomb puzzles, only for it not to be recognized and needing to do it all over again. So, did I enjoy my time with it? Sure. I even beat the game. And then had the game lock up on me. A perfect summation of my experience.

Remember when Google revoked "Don't be evil" from the code of ethics? GOG decided to take note and include an online check for this interactive map. In other words DRM. I have to wonder if they'll patch the quest out of the Witcher 3 which makes fun of DRM and the people who employ it. Not only that, but... why wouldn't such a map just straight up be the map included in Cyberpunk 2077, or at least the add on Phantom Liberty? This makes me sad.

This game is a wonderful game which I've played several times in the past, but it's currently glitched in a way which makes it impossible to complete, specifically in the flood gate/ dam control puzzle. Which is too bad, because the game runs incredibly well other than that.
