Fallout: London

Convoluted Process

This mod/Game has been in development for quite some time at the time of writing this review I cannot in good conciousness give this game more than 1 star (I would give it half if I could). I have followed everything step by step including a completely fresh install of the game, a fresh install of gog (I've never even used their services) and the downgrader patch. For starters when downloading the downgrader patch on nexus it flags my antivirus and gets immediately quarantined I do not know what is in the file that sets off my antivirus but it just does. I have since then made an exception for this. When you go to run the downgrader patch it throws error codes and such which I still am trying to troubleshoot(T/S) to figure it out. From here the means to install the game seems pretty straight forward you get all the warnings and bells/whistles. However when I go to press play after downgrading, installing the mod and doing all of the settings the game loads a blackscreen the main menu screen starts then it crashes to desktop(CTDs). When you look in the discord there is a long long troubleshooting process for this. Note I am using the steam version and will not be buying fallout 4 a second time. With the time it took for FOLON to be released I at least hoped that these issues would have been ironed out after all the testing they should have done. I think instead of gog this game would have benefited being released on github or steam(like enderal) where it would have been easier to make work instead of gog. I will update this review when/if I can get into game about the actual content of the game, but for now I will have to keep my review at 1 star. The process of installing, downloading, updating and such is overly complicated for no reason and there are barely any "official" instructions that actually work.
