Shantae and the Pirate's Curse

Controller support is a lie

Was impossible to get a gamepad to work. This problem is consistent for this game across all PC platforms/stores. Disappointed.

Cyberpunk 2077

Can't save = unplayable

Bought when on sale. Figured it had been long enough since launch that the major issues would have at least been made playable. So I get it, install, start playing - and I can't save. Get an error that leads me to the following suggestions - "turn off BitDefender or Windows Defender." I'm not using either, so there's nothing I can do. If I can't save the game, it's pointless to play. Bottom line, the game works - but is still unplayable.

Hollow Knight

No voice to cry suffering -

the knight is remarkably well adjusted and calm given that they grew up in a no-parent upbringing after being created solely to be used as a mindless tool; a rejected, born-dead abomination of god and nothingness cast into the deepest abyss and locked forever in the blackest pit of seething, roiling, inky living darkness only to somehow survive - a soulless ghost in a shell scratching and clawing it's way out of the corpses of ten-thousand of its siblings and out of the guts of the earth like it's first and unintended birth, only to choose anyway to try to sacrifice itself to save a world that is already lost and in ruin, a grave kingdom of ghosts and somber mourning in which no hope remains. besides that though, it is a happy little bug game in which nothing bad happens. and also it's an excellent Metroidvania game with very sharp mechanics, solid platforming, pleasing (if at times disconcerting) aesthetic throughout it's various landscapes, superb music and sound, interesting character design and a lore & narrative that really pull you in. It is not 'perfect' but it has been the most enjoyable and engrossing game I've played in years.
