Witcher 1 and 2 are already good experiences. The Witcher 3, a open world game, amazes with a meaningful main storyline, secondary quests that make the main plot in other games look pale im comparisson, and there are lots of them. The characters do their part in making the game a believable world, full of athmosphere and wonder. The gameplay is alright in the two hardest difficulty settings, in which you oil up your sword for the right enemies, drink potions for having an edge, use your signs effectively and other tactics, configure Geralt in a way you like. The memorable moments in the Witcher 3 are the icing on the cake. One of my favorite games of all times!
Do you like Fighter-planes and attack-helicopters? Have you played Ace Dumbbat? The golden times for flight-sims might be over, but if you look out you´ll find the right military- or civil flight-simulator of the current generation for you. If you want to have a blast of the past, with this pearl called "Apache Longbow", then go for it! Be warned: There is actually some effort to put in a flight-simulator, to learn how to play. The reward, when you mastered the controls and other aspects of flying, is almost exstatic. And with half a brain and not beeing lazy, you can do it.
And here it is on gog, my favourite game of all times. I played it, when it came out. Morrowind has the best athmosphere i ever experiencend in a game. So many memorable moments, e.g. my first house i aquired in Balmora. There were many other houses, but the first, this small balmora house was my castle.
Deux Ex is one of my favourite games of all time! What can i say that hasn´t been said about this game? Well, not much. The last time i played it is over a decade ago, but i still remember scenes out of it, like the conversation with the bar tender and others, certain areas in the game, happenings. Most games i forget rather quickly, some may be remembered as being good, a few have these memorable moments, which have that special something.
The game has a compelling storyline, a believable world, mostly good (some corny, i admit) characters and their development in it. It´s gameplay, as a tactical space-opera, was almost unique, with challenging missions, in which some have had to be restarted and with a little bit of thinking and planning mastered. In a second playthrough though, on the hardest difficulty, you cut through the enemies like a hot knife through butter. The game has it´s flaws, but the overall experience makes it a 5 out of 5 stars.
