i got killed right away.
after that dreadful half genie hero. it is obvious that they have taken what made the pirate`s curse good and added in the magic system from the other games. they even added back the heart squids and the squidsmith. it is interestimg to see some new towns as well.
i have the disc version and its compatibility was fairly bad and worked only in single player. gog have however fixed its compatibility so that its multiplayer works in modern systems. nice work gog. it have some interesting gameplay mechanics like damage to friendly units if enemy units is hit nearby. it is better than the command and conquer games because of the ability to build any number of buildings, as long as there is enough space.
the gameplay is also quite boring.
i tried to play it in windows 7 and 8.1 and both times i got bex because of the game`s strange executable structure is not compatible. data exceution prevention can not be programmed to ignore it because ex1 and ex2 files can not be placed on the list. out of 5 pcs, only 2 can run it because 2 have windows 7 and one have windows 8.1.
i tried to download it and i got a mac based pkg file. i tried the galaxy installer and i got a mac based archive, meaning that i can not install it on pc. to make matters worse: my anti-virus program had it removed as a threat back when i installed it. i deleted that installer however.
i just played it multiplayer and it works perfectly. i am likely going to play it with others.
i thing that many games is way too long. this one is short enough. too bad the main character died but, at least it was revealed at the start. i do not enjoy playing through a game just for the main charcter to die without me knowing it. it also sheds light on the subject of kids being potty trained too late, as the main character wore diapers until she was 7.
even the first boss does too much damage. it would have been possible with extra lives but, there are none. the first boss`s drop attack can not be dodged, meaning that she kills the main character every time.
i played the original version through steam and man that was grindy. it took me days of grind just to get anywhere. this version however have a greatly increased leveling rate that means that i do not need to grind as much to reach the same levels. i also do not need to heal after battle because hp is restored to full every time i complete a battle. the VR parts can be watched without VR which is useful. the only things i hav to complain about is the inability to have multiple saves and the fact that i can not watch previous events from the menu.
