The developers went out of their way to prevent players from accessing the game's console, even to the point that when they releasesd an updated version of the game, they locked down the ways players had been able to circumvent it in the initial release. For a single-player game that people have to pay for, it's not only unnesseary to block console commands for fair play, but actively updating it to prevent workarounds just comes off as disdain for players wanting to enjoy the game their own way. If I had know this before I got the game, I never would have bothered.
