Cyberpunk 2077

Worth the wait for me

I had patiently waited while the bugs were fixed and avoided any spoilers. The wait was worth it. I play games for the immersion and the environment. Cyberpunk 2077 delivered on that. Night City is intricately detailed, and it's a joy to just explore it and get lost in it. It looks fantastic day or night. The devs were not shy, not trying to hide it in shadows, during the day it's bright and full of vibrant sunshine. I installed the Limited HUD mod to improve my experience, highly recommended, as you can't turn off all HUD elements in the vanilla game, but with the mod you can. My favourite time was when I first installed the Limited HUD mod, turned off all HUD completely, and set myself a challenge to find no-tell motel without driving or using the map starting from Pacifica. I will admit, there are some parts that I don't enjoy due to my style of play, but I found them manageable. I'm not a fan of grinding, nor of leveling, nor of RPG style 'crafting' (I do like Kerbal style crafting though). These things are present, and the game forces you to do them sometimes, and I don't like that. There are also some occasional bugs like pedestrians walking through each other. Despite these, a well deserved 5 stars from me because this is the first time in a long time that I could pretty much completely immerse myself and get lost in a game world like this. I think I would put this as my personal second favourite game world, behind Mirror's Edge in first, and ahead of GTA Vice City in third.
