Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition

Waited far too long to play this.

I bought this years ago but never really gave it a shot. After an hour of playing it I now understand why Larian was such a good fit for BG3. I’m hooked.

The Adventures of Willy Beamish

Finally...

Right in the childhood feels... A LOT of my gaming back in those days was with Sierra/Dynamix classics. Last time I went to visit my parents they were in the process of moving out and were throwing things out. I had shoe boxes of floppies. I grabbed a small stack of my favorites to save from the dump and Willy was in there. Thank you GOG for adding this one to the library. You guys are amazing. Now I need to catch back up to where I left off and see if I can finally beat it... =)

Master of Orion 1+2

Learning curve much?

This is one of the few games that I never played in my early PC days. Reading all of the reviews, it seemed pretty unanimous that they're great and I've heard good thing from friends that played them. That said, it sort of just plops you in front of a space map with some buttons and expects you to know what to do with it all. MOO 1 - I figured out how to move ships to a planet, but they got shot down. Tried another planet and colonized it. I think. MOO2 - I set it to "tutor" difficulty, but there were no "tutor" tips to be found. After aimlessly clicking things in the UI, I went and downloaded the manuals. Seeing the MOO2 manual completely overwhelmed me with how complex this game is. I'm out. People complain about MOO3 being dumbed down, but I'm really starting to think that for the average person, it was a necessary change.

Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive

Confused about the high ratings

Couldn't play more than 5 minutes and had to restart once as soon as the game started. Games starts, talked to the guy that got off the train. kid took my attention for 10 seconds and I apparently missed that he ran off somewhere and I was supposed to follow. He would occasionally call out "Hey, come over here!" but there was no indication of where "here" was. I had ZERO idea of where to go. *Restart* Ok, I watched closely this time. Followed him. Shot a vase in a window. I was told to reload by clicking the gray cartridge which I could not find ANYWHERE in the UI. I don't have the patience for this kind of crap.

Space Quest 1+2+3

-_-

WTF? No VGA SQ1?! I'm somewhat less pleased with my purchase.
