The story , the atmosphere(music mostly) and the possibilities engage your fantasy and you want to see if you can make it another day ..(sorry i meant cycle). It cant be 5 stars because i don't like dices .. and I'd like to see better dialog display among the characters . (it runs in my LInux distro using plain good old wine)
I finished the game and i used a walkthrough very few times. I liked the graphics , the voices , the UI . Many puzzles were fun , and i felt they were logical but i was feeling as another reviewer said as an errand boy going back and forth many many between 5 ! locations. That felt like hitting a budget constraint of the game studio.. I didnt like that the last Villa part felt that was hastily done . But generally i enjoyed it.
The most puzzles are clear-stated to the player and are fair . Althougth there are momments , like in the 1st chapter where the feeling of visiting the same place for 20 times kind of makes the connection brake. Also chapter to chapter minigame. is a downer ( and strange the devs in their blog seems to know all those weaknesses of the genre!!) , The biggest letdown was bugs (due to a broken linux version in the save system) as a dev acknoledges in a steam thread. . Dialogues repeated and items that cant be picked .. Isnt this a big issue. I bought the game for linux a week ago. The linux cliena is still broken ??
Great atmospheric cyber noir adventure, but more oriented in dialog and minigames rather than classical problem solving using items. So excellent atmosphere, excellent and intriguing dialog but the minigames can become boring ...
