This game is oh my god just so great. Everyone here has touched on most of its strong suits so I'll add another: Sound. This game does an amazing job with its use of sound. The soundtrack is beautiful and moody, perfectly suiting the atmosphere. Even action sounds follow the theme and are just great. Never mind the voice acting - some of the best I've ever encountered. Each voiced character has a uniqueness about them and it really pulls you into the game.
Seriously if you have ever played, been obsessed with and made love to any other Black Isle game you need to try this one! It's got amazing immersion and some of the best, most engaging scenarios I've ever seen in any game - ever. It glues you to the screen, and there's so much in it that you will find yourself wanting to restart just to play it through again differently before you're even finished. Amazing game.
