You have to very careful when thinking about purchasing this game. It has its age. It is very into 90's. The only reason I've bought American Hero was that I have been waiting for it on Atari Jaguar for more than 20 years. However if you never heard about Atari Jaguar, never had Atari Jaguar CD and this is the first time you see American Hero, you should probably stay away from this game unless... you are fan of FMV based games from middle of 90's. Overall the plot is thick, dialogs are often dump, you die due to single wrong decision (like turning right instead of left). There were so many great games with wonderful plot in the 90's. American Hero is not one of them. The only reason I gave it 3 starts is to encourage other developers to preserve some old games. Technically the devs did their job to make this game playable but let me repeat my self: if you are not Atari Jaguar fan you should probably stay away from American Hero. It can be disappointing for you.
Flashback has been great game back in a day and still is today. Now it got nice upgrade to modern world while leaving all those things we loved Flashback back in a day intact fortunately. Those who never played it before should try. Simple, addictive, well designed with good yet simple background story and with very own style just like Another World. A truly classic that never gets old.
This could be awesome game if only all the annoying bugs that take away all the fun would be fixed. Otherwise it is stylish and well designed game that is really fun to play. with great atmosphere. If you liked Mark of a Ninja you will love Ronin until you get stuck somewhere between walls due to game bugs. Turn based attack model could use some enhancements, but the way jumping and grappling hook works makes the game harder, but in stupid way since you really can not control correctly your character movements. Something not acceptable in such type of game with a story involving martial art where everything is about control and mastering it. In Ronin you can't master above due to game implementation. If all bugs will be fixed one day I will give it a 5 start rating instantly.
This is brilliant little game with nice background story to it making it a real gem. Made me feel a bit like almost programming Atari Transputer but in late 70's or early 80's using 8 bit cpus. A great challenge for real hackers/cracker. However if you are not a programmer you will never like it so it is definitively not for every gamer. But if you love coding, you will love this one instantly.
Game with great potential unfortunately very shallow exploited. I doubt there are really many strategies for winning: you basically repeat the same activities all the time: cut wood, make food, find some parts, fixe broken stuff. Random breakdowns of old equipment are not random and the whole thing looks like very linear game. If one of the crew member dies, is it basically gameover since you will not be able to collect enough resources to survive. There is basically no interaction between people you control. So at the end it was a great idea covered with nice and stylish graphic but the gameplay is lacking a lot. A real pity because it could've been great game.
Game with great idea, especially if you add submarine concept, with good and stylish graphic, in theory interesting background story but other than that it offers very little. Complex UI, shallow story, everything takes a lot of time and at the end seems pointless and you die. I've been very disappointed by this game. Waste of great idea with interesting climate.
Great idea with very poor execution. After reading about performance issues on PC I've tried it on PS4 and the game can lag even in intro screen when you travel in space (already after downloading an update). Putting aside performance issues on different hardware/configuration combination, after spending around 1h playing No Man's sky I must say that the game is pointless. You start on a planet and walk around trying to survive by collecting different artifacts and recharging different machinery just to take off and travel through space. It is boring. Waste of money. It is a pity because IMHO great idea has been completely wasted.
