If you're not interested in the H aspects of this series eroge then this game continues the Sengoku aspects of "resource management" gameplay. Now in the form of character skills, and the strategy of how you allocate skills changes throughout the game. Which is why the skill reset item is really cheap. The character gags and writing are strong and the translation does a lot of it justice.
