As good if not better than the original. I loved the first game and this one has the same elements - philosophy, choice, all levels of puzzle solving. Even the conversations are interesting and I spend time reading them in great detail and contemplating my responses. Huge attention to detail, beautiful settings. Very well done. This game is as much art or literature in full meaning of the word. Thank you for the pleasure.
I'm all about the old school rpg's. This one is fun in the same way the old ones were with the joy of not having to commit everything you learn to pen and paper. You have to work for the good weapons and armor which is also more rewarding and makes you value the game play. If you like lower tech and well constructed games, this one is fun.
The other reviews are correct, it takes some time to master the basic game mechanics, and I had to google how to do a few things because they just aren't obvious, but its worth sticking it out, it has a raw feel to it, and you really do feel 'in' the game such that looting bodies actually made me feel a bit uneasy as opposed to the usual rpg cartoon feel of just bagging loot. I like rpg's but many of them are boring and grindy. Alot of thought went into this, its obvious from every angle you can think of. Very refreshing. Thanks for taking the time to put a great experience together!
Has anyone really not played this by now? I played the originals at the original time and this one captures the same essence of humour and self deprecation, though much funnier (actual laugh out loud moments) thanks to modern gaming. Characters are complex and actually interesting, the choices and actions are worth repeating over and over again to see how they play out....the gameplay is smooth and the settings are beautiful and engaging. I love this game. Hats off to the whole team who put this together. AND I salute the decision not to flog it to death. It stands alone. Savour the moments. Thank you Larian.
I'm not a big horror person but I really like a game with a fantastic storyline, and this game nails it. The voices were well cast, emotional and emotion provoking. The graphics and sound created an eerie, creepy mood with a sense of suspense and trepidation. The puzzles ranged from easy to difficult which I personally like. You aren't stumped at every corner, but there is enough pausing to make you feel very satisfied when you figure it out. The game was much longer than I expected, but every area of the game was unique, they didn't revisit areas for different purposes in order to make the game cheaper to make. I am old school, I like 3rd person point and click adventures which are a little hard to come by. This game would have been a jewel in the heyday of point and click, and it was a breath of fresh air in these modern times of first person shooters. I highly recommend this game if the above sound appealing. I look forward to playing Brotherhood's other games.
