For a game from 2012 it feels great. It's like a beat em up style game but also feels like I'm watching a movie, it's just simple fun. * The music/radio stations all fit the game, none of it feels out of place. * The world feels alive with a lot of npcs clustered together walking around with random gossip you can listen on plus a lot of side stuff to do in-between the main story. * The language spoken in-game switches between English and I think Cantonese so you'll want to make sure subtitles are on (think they are by default) * You can buy clothing for the character you're playing and some clothing gives stat bonuses if you wear a matching set and some full preset clothing has special abilities like slowing down time during a possible counter attack. Overall pretty fun, it is bit old so there are some obvious oddities like clothing clipping or random npcs walking into objects but I haven't encountered anything game breaking.
I wasn't sure what to expect wen I saw the cover but after looking at the images and seeing it's "Vampire Survivors with sexy anime waifus, high-quality 3D graphics, and eye-candy VFX!" I figure I'd give it a try. I love the game, it feels like they took the Vampire Survivors idea and expanded on it and did their own twist with some parts. It's more than just eye-candy in my opinion. * Powerups have qualities and 30mins doesn't mean instant death, it means boss fight and I love that. * The visuals are great in my opinion and I'm surprised there are physics for the character models and outfits. * The hud isn't intrusive at all, I didn't even notice the radar in the bottom right until over an hour in. The adult content is alright as a bonus but for me the gameplay has been great, it even works with my xbox controller (little finicky but works). Only crashed once in 3 hours after reaching the 30min mark for the first time. These kind of games have limitless potential considering how much fantasy material there is out there that can be used so I look forward to seeing if/how this game expands going forward.
