This is an excellent game concept but the execution does need a bit of attention. Hopefully the developer will patch at least some of the issues. The pros: - The console, I love games where I don't need to use a mouse and the console even has alias which is a really nice touch. - I love that the game makes you think and if you make poor choices it is unforgiving. - I like the atmosphere and aesthetics of the game. - It is good that it is stable and has not crashed once for me. - Initially It has good re-playability value to some degree, at least initially. The cons: - You cannot save the game mid mission and exit. - The buggy unfinished parts: For example when you try collect the 8th drone the game will not tell you it does not have space for it on your ship it just gets lost without any choice as to which drones you would prefer to keep. Same issue with ship slots that are red, even after repairing if you try install something it just gets lost. When you commandeer a ship you cannot undo nor is there some kind of warning. I am sure there is a whole lot more bug issues I didn't find yet. (These things should really have been ironed out in beta testing before selling it as a final product.) - The cannot save bug, I wasted hours of game play due to a bug where it would not actually save the game because the installer marked the game files as read only. Once I unchecked the read only permissions the saving started working. I played it on Windows 7 Pro. - There is no obvious way to see the attributes about your drones like speed, camera type etc. Having that would make it a bit more rpgish and give it a bit more depth. On that note It is also unclear as to if the different types of drones have advantages over others. For example does wheels work better in some situations than a hovering drone? Are the different types of cameras better at seeing specific threats? Or is it just all eye candy and not actual depth? - It lacks the depth to keep you engaged for binge hours at a time. (All you do is collect scrap, upgrades and drones) - The game offers no logical explanation as to why you cannot revisit a ship again. To sum it up for me personally I think $18 is a bit overpriced considering the issues above. I really love the game concept. Some parts of the game have been given a lot of attention and look great, other parts not so much and leaves a feel of a game that is unfinished.
