Wizardry 8

Pleasant Surprise

I've been craving a good dungeon crawler for a long time. I liked Grimlock, enough, but I've never been too into the genre. However, I'm always looking out for games like this. Yeah, it's old, but it aged well. At first I thought it was going to be grid based, but it was not! This game lets you look around freely, and move anywhere. There are zones, but the areas are so large it isn't a problem. Character customization is great, the few voiceovers are superb. The Combat is intense and immensely tactical. There are many times I fought my way out of a losing situation, because I thought about my situation and worked out of it. Brilliant Game, would recommend!

Uru: Complete Chronicles

Suckered

Even purchasing this game on sale does not make up for the fact that it is free to play through other avenues (like mystonline). I can't find any information on differences between the two, but GOG should remove the game if it is free.

Blackwell Bundle

Short

My biggest complaint about this series is its length. Each game was about an hour long and that is exploring every possibility. I liked the premise, but the game is way too short. If they were all combined I might be more forgiving. However, as it stands, the games in this series are not worth this price. I give this four stars because it is original and somehow, I really enjoyed the game. It's not something I could recommend to other gamers, though, as it's not really that great. It's a cult classic.

He was right, run you fools.

There are so many bugs in this game that I won't even try to put them all in this review. Let's just say that nothing really works, from random glitch launches and instadeaths, to the save system not working. In the games current state you can't save because it will crash your game and if you load a save it will become corrupted after it crashes your game. That's if the game doesn't crash before you want to save, or if the game doesn't decide to kill you for jumping into a ceiling. The AI in the game is awful and enemies just run back and forth, their sprites flipping back and forth so fast you don't know which way they are facing. This game does not play like Contra. The weapon mechanics are silly. The crafting and mine system isn't functioning properly at the moment. I'll stop there, but I could go on. Avoid this game until it is patched.

SiN Gold

Really? Boobs?

Just want to point out to GOG (someone else probably mentioned it), but in one of the preview pics is a topless lady. Seems to me that there would be age verification if you wanted to show that. I'm not sure if it was an employee joke, but it's still in bad taste.

Inquisitor

Where did all the time go?

This game spent almost a decade being produced. Its story promised to be outspoken, with spectacular gameplay, meaningful choices, and a unique setting. Sadly, it didn't pan out. This game is filled with bugs, bland dialogue, and a boring setting. The question I asked myself when playing this game? Of all the games I could be playing right now, why this one? In the end, the dialogue sounds like it's being forced through the same conspiracy meat-grinder. The gameplay is laborious and the setting is merely a background. Before you purchase this game, be aware that you are in for the long haul and will be left scratching your head asking, "Why did this game get so many awards?"

Runaway 3: A Twist of Fate

Not satisfying

I bought this game based on the multitude of 5 star reviews and am sorely disappointed. The best thing about the game is the graphics. I have to give it 2 stars because they were stylistic. But that is me just trying to be fair. This game is just terrible. I have never played point and click adventure this bad. The graphics while great are sloppy and choppy. Animations are sluggish and character animations make the chars seem like they are in body casts. The music. Terrible. What little there is gets repeated over and over and over. The puzzles? Completely illogical and annoying. I do not want run back and forth between multiple areas for just about every puzzle. Logic? Lets put a water in a glove, freeze it, then put it in an urn? Serious? If a puzzle is illogical it must be funny or ironic. None of the puzzles in this game are either. The characters? I wanted to punch the screen at how annoying they were. It seems to me that people who wrote this game didn't know how to give life to a character without giving them an accent or making them move strangely. Every char in this game is based on a stereotype. This game wasn't even fun. I thought maybe that after awhile the characters and the story would get better. Nope. I didn't laugh. I didn't wonder what was going to happen next. If you can get over the terrible graphics of other point and click games... Play those.

The Night of the Rabbit

Beautiful

This game is beautiful; it contains everything I look for in an adventure game. It's storytelling is superb and it has an imagination. This game comes packed with fun, adventure, and heart. After all that, it still manages to go the extra mile, with hidden objects and un-lockable extras. This game is one of my favorite adventure games. If I had to pick something negative to say about the game... I would have to say it can be a bit glitchy in some parts. A few times the main character disappeared behind a texture. The puzzles aren't very logical, but this game is not set in a logical world. If you like lighthearted entertainment, this is a must buy.

The Cat Lady

Warning

The cat lady was a great game. But I haven't played it since I beat it. I would like to note that it has made frequent attempts to run without my permission or without me opening the program. This is something I think GOG should look into. I have Comodo and it has brought up warnings about The cat lady trying to make changes while I am watching netflix/surfing the internet. The game gets a 1 star rating because I have run multiple rescue cds and even did a fresh install on windows to see if I had a virus/rootkit. There are no signs of anything on my computer. So I reinstalled the cat lady and sure enough a few days later I caught it doing the same thing.
