DOOM (2016)

Doom, through and through

Great game. This is Doom, with yellow, red and blue keys, power ups, health and ammo on the run, and all the critters you recognize from the past. Good: Runs perfectly under Lutris on Linux. The suit, weapon mods and upgrades make progression fun. Minimal unskippable cutscenes. Not great: The map regularly shows you routes that are not navigable. (ie - you can't there from here) I didn't enjoy the boss fights, but I guess that's par of the course. (I used god mode) Game might have been a map or two, too long. A couple of command line args I used: +com_skipIntroVideo 1 +com_skipKeyPressOnLoadScreens 1 Notice, you have to pick your monitor's aspect ratio BEFORE picking a screen resolution. I played at 1920x1080 on a 1920x1200 screen for 1/3 of the game. :-P Also, an issue that could me major: If you switch to dev mode in the console (to run god mode, for example), the next time you load a save game, it'll report your save as corrupt. All you need to do is pull down the console and switch to dev mode and then load your save.
