I got this for the first time after hearing it was better now. Nope, not true. Models failed to load in, characters mouths were not synced to the dialog, all the characters in the scene including my player character were all T-Posing. And this was 10min in still in the tutorial! I refunded instantly, the tutorial should be one of the most polished parts of a game right? I'm terrified what the rest of the game had to offer. Only good thing I could say is my frames never really dropped below 60, but not sure that tradeoff is worth it.
Let me start off by saying I loved the swindle. Its fun, engaging, and a very good heist simulator. but I hated playing it. This game is buggy, like really buggy. And in some games that's ok. But in a perma death 1 hit and your out game it is unacceptable and left me raging at my screen as I died yet again from something that was not my fault. This game shines like a diamond, but only if you can withstand the constant unfair deaths. I wish the devs would come back and fix this game.
An interesting world with nice pixel art that fails when it comes to mechanics and engaging storytelling. Pros: + music + pixel art + interesting idea + just managing to scrape by on resources Cons: - game fights you to learn the story as you will hemorrhage limited resources and let your train break down if you stop to try and listen to anything anyone is talking about on your train. - there is no tutorial - no consequence for letting your passengers die other than you get less money - only 4 types of enemies - game can easily be cheesed and in some cases you have to. -game needed another pass of a word editor as grammar is terrible. - save points are ambiguous so you can quit the game only to find yourself a long distance back, meaning the only safe time to quit is to beat a level in its entirety.
The story is weak, the game play is weak. It may have been fantastic when it first came out but today it just looks bad compared to other games that came out at about the same time. Buy it if you want to see what all the hype was about, but that's all this game has. Hype.
