This is my rainy day autism game. I played the demo for years (with a mysterious file added) then bought on Steam ,then I HAD to have it here so I could never lose it. Infinite fun. Just stab some dudes, maybe run a trade caravan, become a knight, declare wars, hunt down bandits, burn down villages. Then there are a ton of unique and interesting mods. I'll play Bannerlord someday, maybe, when it's five bucks like this is on sale.
Arkane is the only developer to escape the Imsim curse; kinda. This is their first game and still their best and most innovative. I mean, I like Dishonored, Dark Messiah and Prey but this spiritual successor to Ultima Underworld is amazing and should be played by all. You have no excuse. When it goes on sale it is less than the cost of a beefy crunch burrito at Taco Bell and it runs on anything, even a 13 year old laptop with Intel integrated graphics. Not 2000, not HD or whatever, the ORIGINAL GRAPHICS CHIPSET!!! Anyone can play this. Go find a laptop in a dumpster and it will run this. BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT
An amazing zombie parkour RPG. Tons of stuff to do, you can pick up random junk, there's a hot Turkish tomboy. I love it, I played it to almost 100% on Steam and now I got it on Gog because Steam left Windows 7 users like me behind. :( Anyway, it runs great on my RX 470 4GB and Fx 8350 on Windows 7.
'Tis Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. What a fantastic game. The combat is excellent, I feel that playing on hard might have been too easy, so maybe go higher. The story is minimal most times, which actually lets you play the dang game! The majority of the characters are lovable, and the concept of the setting interests me greatly. Oh, and you can fish! This is the first Ys game I beat. I left my heart on the Isle of Seiren.
Not enough people are talking about this game. Evoland one came out and was in the limelight for a while for being a gimmick. Evoland 2 is no gimmick. Whereas the first game told a generic story with extremely blunt references to Zelda and Final Fantasy, the second is much more subtle, but can also stand on its own without any references. Let's get down to brass tacks. Evoland 2 is an action rpg played from an overhead perspective. Most of the time you are wandering through dungeons; solving puzzles and killing enemies for exp and money. The puzzles are not too hard, although if you want to find all of the collectibles such as a material for making weapons or cards (I'll get to that) then you have to search heartily. You also wander into towns where you can search for secrets, raid peoples treasuries, buy items and equipment and play a card game called Game of Cards. This game is like a pseudo ccg; almost a cross between Hearthstone and Monster Monpiece. Cards are won through beating certain opponents, and the card game plays out pretty well, although sometimes it feels like you either steamroll them or vice versa. This is not the only non action rpg gameplay feature though. The game will be broken up occasionally by segments seemingly ripped from other games. There is a shmup section, a Megaman-esque level, Bomberman, Fire Emblem, Chrono Trigger style combat and more. These sections fit right into the theme of the events happening in the story and never feel out of place. The story is one of time travel, where each era is attributed to a different graphical style (8 and 16 bit, as well as ps2 era 3d). There are three companions who accompany the hero on his journey to do world saving things. They are all written well, if a little tropey, but it works. In conclusion, since I'm running out of space, my only regret is that it feels too short. A certain reveal at the end of the game feels like a halfway point, beat it in 13 hours, and I want more.
