unfortunately unplayable. i wanted it to work but ..... all i got was a miniature purple screen that was not even centred. a problem many players had in the past. can't imagine why creators did not fix that until now. they had plenty of time ... returned for refund.

This game is more than just a game. 5 starts for everything - art, story, characters, voice acting, atmosphere, graphics, music .... It is one of the most beautiful and well rounded games I ever played. When you play it, you forget where you are because you became a part of the story. The game is playable on all Windows OS - from 7 - 11. Well done and thank you for that ! The price is also decent, comparing to other games that strive to be on the same or similar level. It was worth the wait. Thank you Benoit Sokal (RIP) and Microids. Highly recommend.

NOTE: I played the whole game with all additional cases To FROGWARES: 5 stars for the story, atmosphere, and length (brilliant as always !!!) 4 stars for graphics (although nice, could be optimised better for this price) 3 stars for waiting a long time for all additional cases (so that you can charge each separately ?) 2 stars for the price (with all the additional cases it costs almost €60 ! It is an insane price !) 1 star for combats which absolutely don't make any sense. They felt like you finished the game and then decided to throw some combats in to make it sell better. Really ?! Please do not add any combats next time. 0 starts for not being playable on Windows 7. Yes, some parts did play, until we got 'M for Mystery' which then crashed the game. (Many people still have W7 and need it for various reasons, myself included. However I have 2 OS on the same PC and luckily could play the game till the end. Many SH fans have not been so lucky). When calculated this doesn't amount to overall 4 stars, but I am still giving them to this game, because quite frankly - I enjoyed it. Minus combats, that is (and trying to forget its price, lol).

POSITIVE: voice acting / lovely graphics (but most of the time way too dark) / atmosphere very similar to the original one NEGATIVE: absolutely horrible avatar navigation, you can't make him walk straight or where you want him to go - no matter how hard you try / screens load forever and there is a lot of loading in this game / finding hotspots depends on navigating the avatar and I already mentioned how difficult that is / graphics although lovely are way too dark most of the time. adjusting 'gamma' to as far as it can go, so you can actually see something, results in a fog like film over the whole screen, which in return makes graphics less sharp / the worst of all: finding hot spots when you are on a time puzzle - it is next to impossible. then you get 'killed' so many times that you want to throw your computer through the window OVERALL: I am glad I bought the game when it was on a huge discount (paid only €7.49 for it) because to my opinion. it is not worth €29.99. So, I suggest to wait until hugely discounted and then buy it.

it would be a nice game if not for bugs in almost every chapter. i played it with a friend, we encountered various bugs, worked our way around them somehow until the massive one in chapter 6, where something did not happen that should have happened so we could not continue the game any more. sadly, we requested a refund. The graphics are nice, the story decent, and in all fairness i would probably give it 4 starts if i could finish it, or at least get a proper support by a real agent so that i can finish it. to my opinion the game was not worth dealing with the support robot that usually leads nowhere and solves nothing, and only wastes my time. all in all i would not recommend this game. it needs a lot ironing and fixing all those bugs to become a decent game.

Another very promising Sherlock Holmes (I did not finish it yet). Fist of all I must mention that it runs on Windows 7 with all settings on highest, provided you have a decent machine. I haven't encountered any glitches so far. Second it is a massive open concept game with many side cases to solve, so I am looking forward to many playing hours. Frogwares has the talent to create an atmosphere and this game is not an exception - you get one to remember. The only objection is the combat. There are two options to choose from - investigation and combat. I hoped that if I choose investigation that I won't get any combats but I was so wrong. There is still too much combat to my taste and all those that I encountered so far look like the training in the police station and out of place (tugs wearing armour !!!, sacks of flour in the boat house !!! etc.) And while killing monsters was completely incorporated into' The Sinking City''s game story and fun to do, it feels unnatural, weird, and unnecessary in this game. NOTE: I will update my review when I finish the game. It is still early days but I wanted to encourage those that are still not sure whether to buy this game or not. I absolutely recommend it.

stunningly beautiful graphics. smooth play without glitches. but .... no story, no reason ... then the puzzles are all of the same style which makes you not look forward to the next one because you already know what is coming. once you figure out their logic it becomes easy to solve them. a variety of puzzles with different kind of challenges will greatly help here. if the same effort and imagination used to create graphics was applied to create the story i would give this game 5 stars. in spite of the monotonous puzzles. this way it feels boring and empty. it feels at times like the game is not finished because you keep asking yourself why all that ? why all those puzzles and so many .... what really happened there ? i guess we will never know.
