New RIVEN is the greatest remake ever made of the greatest game ever made ! Beautiful, imaginative, mesmerising, immersing, atmospheric, artistic, engaging, trilling, unforgettable .., RIVEN has been my favourite Myst world game back then, and I have to say - it continues to be with this remake that certainly exceeded all my expectations. I enjoyed every second of the game-play, all together with several hidden treasures (or Easter Eggs as they call them) that I could miss without knowing they even existed, since they are not part of any puzzle and not needed to finish the game. So take your time to search carefully ...... Typically CYAN/MYST kind of puzzles, unlike in the original game, are not too difficult this time. In fact, they are quite easy to solve when you pay attention to every detail, take the time to search every place thoroughly, read every single book, and - take notes. I highly recommend this gem to everyone who loves CYAN's games. It is a treasure not to be missed. And trust me - it is worth every cent. I highly recommend it !!!
So far the best in the series of Agatha Christie Poirot games. In fact, it is a few categories above the previous ones. It has a good story, lots of puzzles (not too difficult), fun collectables, great characters, and much better graphics than all the previous games in the series. The side cases (stories withing the main story) are nicely incorporated into the main story. It is also the longest game in the series, which is something I always appreciate in a good game. If you are thorough and want to find every collectable, win every trophy, solve every puzzle, and explore every corner of the game, you will get about 18-20 hours of play, which is great. The price is ok when on at least 35% discount, so wait for that. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery, solving puzzles and of course - Poirot. I hope that Microids will continue to improve the Agatha Christie Poirot games, and that the next game will be even longer and more interesting.
First of all this game is massive ! If you wish to see and play all of it, it lasts more than 40 hours, maybe even 50 !!! Second, you can play it many times because each case can be solved in many ways. And did I mention, there are MANY CASES, all of which could be a separate game with just a bit added to it. I have never enjoyed any game as much. And, I do not like shooting. However, in this game it makes perfect sense and even that is enjoyable. The story (stories) is immensely rich. All characters well portrayed. The graphics are excellent too. You can play it many times and never get bored with it. As, I said, this game is worth every cent. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves mystery. Looking forward to SC 2.
The story is great, but then the credit for that goes to Agatha Christie. The broken graphics, and the need to control the perspective using the mouse's wheel, is tedious to say the least. It really ruins the experience of the game. The mind map is too small to see the whole picture, even on 24 inches screen. The game is too short for the price. (You could add puzzles, mini games, etc. to make it longer) I was looking forward to this game, but finished it quite disappointed.
Beautiful, peaceful, calming, original ... A slow paced game where you explore and discover interesting new worlds accompanied by a robot. A companion, a guide, a guard, or ...... it is up to you to discover as the story unravels .... Deciphering glyphs could be confusing sometimes but overall I enjoyed it. I loved the story, the graphics, the pace, the characters .... the only objection is a very tedious and monotone space travel. I liked it a lot at the beginning, but then it started to become longer, and longer, and longer ............ to the point of a sheer frustration and almost giving up on the game. Still, I highly recommend this game.
One of those instances when a game is that well done that it becomes a piece of art. Just everything about it is beautiful. It is filled with emotion, sincerity, honesty and wisdom. The story of a your girl coping with loss and grief by writing a story and creating an imaginary place of escape is simply heart-touching. Every single part of this 'game' is well thought and polished with an utmost care. I highlky recommend it. 10 stars from me !
This is just a written text, more like an e-book, which you can interact with a little. It isn't a game, especially NOT an adventure game as being advertised, and it should not be advertised as such. The whole concept of a story is ok, but it should have been done differently to be called a game. Even when discounted it is not worth the money, because we naturally expect a game environment, not only written text rolling down. Disappointed !
To be honest I expected more from this game. Even though the graphics are nice, the story is not very interesting or engaging, puzzles are quite easy, and the whole game quite short (way too short for the price). Worth buying when it gets substantially discounted.
Having payed all Frogwares Sherlock Holmes games, this one came as a disappointment. And the main reason is its length. It is way too short for the price, and for what we used to get before from Frogwares. I absolutely adored the previous games: 'Chapter One' and 'The Sinking City', which both are at least 5 times longer. Then the VERY FEW additional side cases, which were almost a joke. The longest could be solved in 8 minutes !!! All together they could be solved on 20 minutes max. Although nice, the wardrobe could be better. Instead of 'borrowing' it from the previous games, do please create new ones from the scratch, so that we do not pay for the same outfits over and over again. Otherwise it is a great game. Frogwares is fantastic at giving psychological depth to their characters, as they are are in creating mystical atmosphere. Portraying Watson as an equally important person in the duo is a great idea. Sherlock would not be who he was without Watson, and vice versa. They are a true team, which is heartwarming, and something I always look forward to enjoy in their recent games. The graphics are great as well, which is another Frogwares' trademark. In fact I would not have any complaints if the game's price reflected its duration and therefore costed substantially less. NOTE: I am looking forward to a new game, BUT please either make it last as 'Chapter One' and 'The Sinking City' for the same price, or lower the price.
