Broken Sword: Director's Cut

A classic too classical

Like many other games purchased on GOG, I never had the opportunity to play Broken Sword at the time it was published. The fame and the aura surrounding BS are such that the desire to complete the adventure had reached compelling levels. Thanks to GOG finally add another classic to my collection of adventure games. Unfortunately I can not claim to be truly satisfied. The disappointment is not in the interface (typically of the game I was looking for), nor in the cartoon graphics (which are part of its charm), as in the plot. That's all in this kind of adventure game. Starting from the grounds of George Stobbart (which of course are ironic, and can also make sense in the style of the game), a little weak, the real disappointment is in the conduct of the ending. In the end the most interesting parts are those related to Nico in the Director's Cut, but remain isolated and not really integrated into the rest of the plot. In the face of these defects, which do not affect the quality of execution of the game as his enjoyment level of involvement, I would not rate it as a masterpiece. But for all the adventurers is definitely a milestone to try out.
