This is not Dungeon Keeper. This game has 2 parts. First part looks like Dungeon Keeper. You are controlling the dungeon and you need to protect it. When dungeon is built, your creatures are going outside to conquer the "world". It reminds me warcraft 2. You have a 8-15 units and need to kill all enemies or destroy something. If you like the idea, then the game is for you. Also I'd like to mention that this is a COMEDY RTS. There is a commentator who tells a jokes about your action. If your sense of humor is ok, it's fun and doesn't disturb at all. I highly recommend Dungeons 2 and 3 :)
I played Showgunners and like it a lot. I wanted to play something similar and bought Phantom Doctrine from the same developer. I was surprised how bad is Phantom Doctrine. It sais that it's like XCOM but with spies. Sounds fun... But it's just sounds. 1. Missions have unlimited enemies that come from the side of the map again and again and... You cannot take them down. 2. Missions have areas that you shouldn't visit or it will rise the alarm and you will fail. 3. It has base building and the game doesn't give you any idea what should you build first. Just try and see. If you fail, you can start the new game. 4. It has world map and no info how to use it, but it has warning that if you do something wrong, you have to start the new game. I think it's a bad game design if you need to google correct build order for the base, correct missions order of global map and correct walk through for missions OR try and fail many times to find the rules. Just get Showgunners from same developer abd enjoy good turn-based tactics.
If you like Hard West gameplay and you want better story without... You know Hard West stupid story, right? Showgunners is much better. I like it. It took all good things from Hard West and Phantom Doctrine and skipped all bad things from Hard West story and all stupid stealth things from Phantom Doctrine. Story writing is good, gameplay is easy and good if you get the idea correct, visuals are nice. I recommend this game and it's a huge step forward from previous developer's titles.
I really like the start of the game and several missions before the last one. The story is good, gameplay is good also. It's simple and fun hack and slash to play to relax. I have feeling that devs did like 7-8 levels and found out that game is too short. So they decided to add more missions just to extend the game time. Some of these "filler" missions are bad, others are just horrible, but the game is still fun. It hooks you at the start and when you start to hate, it returns to good missions.
I've bought this game to play on laptop with win10 and found out that it crashes after introduction video. I tried 3 tutorials and couldn't run the game: launching in game in compatibility modes, adding to data execution prevention whitelist, downloaded several patches. Nothing works.
