Better than I expected.

I'll be honest, I bought this game for the H content and its art style. I didn't think the story and the simple game play was going to be this fun. It's quite dark for a story and I notice a lot of corruption going on in the game's world. Main character, Aster, builds a wholesome relationship with his growing roster of wives and does what he can to help fight evil. There is some rape in this game, however it's only the villains doing it and you defeat them anyway, so the theme is more about this evil existing and you fight it the best you can. At the time of this review, I'm only entering chapter 3. So far the game has had me captivated because it's actually fun. Putting the eroge part aside, I genuinely enjoy the characters and the dialogue, it's like reading/watching a good anime/manga that is just enjoyable. The sexual content just happens to be a part of the game and is a whole other thing to watch as well.

Quake 4

Didn't work.

Maybe the game is too old and not optimized for my computer. It would make it to the main menu but would lock up and/or not read my mouse and keyboard. I cannot play this game with my current PC. Though I do remember owning the disc version back in the day. It's a really good game with a great story.

Cyberpunk 2077

Immersive and fun but over-hyped.

Immersive game and great atmosphere. Plenty of bugs and the controls are a slight pain with mouse and keyboard; driving with a keyboard sucks. Cyberpunk 2077 feels like it's worth the price, but it's completely over-hyped; I'm a little disappointed. It's worth buying this game, but I strongly recommend waiting for patches to roll through first.

Ghostrunner

The kind of game I was waiting for!

Runs in Borderless window mode. Smooth performance with no noticeable hiccups. Amazing game play. Wall-running and jumping, platforming, cyberpunk post-apocalyptic theme. These developers must have had a blast building the levels in this game, it is amazing. Only one hour into the game and I can already tell there was a lot of love and effort put into this game. You kill and die really fast too, but the best part of this is that there's virtually no loading time. You die, the game picks back up immediately at last checkpoint so you don't miss a beat. I was looking forward to this game since I saw the advertisement video on the store page, I am extremely happy to have bought this game. It is very challenging but also very fun and satisfying and very awesome.

F.E.A.R. Platinum

One of the best shooter games

Honestly I was always fascinated by the A.I. and game play of FEAR. The enemies actually speak up to each other to give you a sense of them being organized. They actually use cover, try to flank, flush you out and so-on. They aren't braindead, or appear so like in newer AAA games. The weapon mechanics and their recoil are also more fun to play with. They have quite a bit of recoil but not so much so it shakes you whole screen like crazy like some games do. I wouldn't really call this game a horror game though. It may be scary to someone who's never experienced horror and/or actively avoided it, but the scares aren't really big. The scares are more like jump-scares, you weren't expecting something to be here or there so it startles you, that's about it. Considering the age of this game, I'd say it aged well. The story is a bit cheesy too, but consider the time it came out I'm not surprised. It has a lot of fun special effects though you didn't see often out of games from the earlier game years, seeing how it used to have 5 or 6 CDs for install at the time.

Nox™

I loved this game

I used to play this game all the time when I was younger. I love the level designs, the maps, the classes and everything in how it plays. It's a fun & funny game with a lot to offer. When it comes to top-down action RPGs, it's worth owning. I especially enjoyed the Quest mode with the blue button when I was younger. Always had something to do, levels to grind and a lot of fun. I really wish this game had more love, it would be really nice to see a modernized version of this game with an equally good design and play.

The Evil Within

One of my favorite games

Runs better than the Steam version of the game because it's DRM-Free. There are a few points in the game that bother me though with level design. There is one point where you have to fight wave after wave of enemies until you get past a door guarded by harpoon turrets. Then there's another point in the game where you have to bunker up and defend your buddy while he disarms a trapped door. Otherwise I've found this game to be a fantastic experience, give or take a few issues given its age.

INMOST

Kept me entertained for a bit.

This game is pretty "meh" in my opinion. I think it has interesting art, the gameplay is not interesting and feels pretty boring. This is the kind of game you'd go into for the story and atmosphere, not how it plays. It feels lackluster, While it looks good, I feel like it's pretty flat or bland. Like another review states, it heavily uses metaphors. There are parts of the story that makes me feel pity, but at the same time it's hard to maintain interest in what it has to show. So for $15, I'd recommend trying a different game. The story is interesting but I think a different game like Hob, Hyperlight Drifter, or especially CrossCode would be a better use of money within the $20 range. But at the very least it kept me entertained for an evening if nothing else.

The Evil Within 2

Fantastic game, one of my favorites.

I was happy to find that this version of the game on GOG has no DRM, the pre-order bonus content I thought I'd never get a hold of after becoming a fan of the game too late, and generally runs better than the Steam or Console versions. This game is simply fun too. It has great difficulty modes that change up enemy encounters, interesting monster designs, and a rather well-done story progression. The stealth and combat bits are fun. It's fun to find upgrades and craft for better equipment. My favorite mode is Nightmare mode for its challenge. Different enemy spawns, more urgency in encounters and pushes you to be more careful and tactical while not overwhelming you by over-beefing enemies. This game maintains a good balance for each difficulty so it remains fair while pushing you to approach differently. And if you want a old-fashion experience, Classic mode is a lot of fun with limited saves and no upgrades, as well as altered encounters all the while maintaining a fair balance so the enemies are too tough and you aren't too easy to kill. The major drawback to playing classic mode though is the limited saves, makes you very careful about how to use them. And my favorite part about the GOG version of the game, besides the pre-order bonus pack is that the game performs better on this version than it does on the Steam version because it lacks the DRM. No DRM means no background nonsense to hurt the game's performance. It's always better to play games that provide the best performance when possible, and this is where you ought to go for that.

The Evil Within Bundle

One of the best games I've played.

Evil Within is a great horror game with plenty of action, tactical play and steath. The story is about the antagonist more than the protagonist, but I find that to be an interesting change of pace. Level design is a lot of fun and there is a lot of variety as you make progress through the game. It's one of the best games I've experienced, especially as my entry to the survival-horror genre I was previously too scared to get into. Thanks to this game, I've had a new experience that helped me handle this type of genre, so now it's another realy awesome work of art and story-telling experience to have. I've owned it on consoles, I own it on Steam twice and now I'm going to own it again (thanks to a sale) to have it on GOG. GOG is a better platform and they're better "friends" to us as consumers than anywhere else. So it's been worth getting again.
