The Little Acre is a beautifully-animated and voice-acted adventure game! The game prompts you to click on things with a little orange circle, but otherwise gets out of your way. I really enjoyed the music score, and found the characters to be hilarious! The Linux installer worked flawlessly. My only gripe is that the game was a bit short.
Overall, this game is a lot of fun. It works well on Linux, with controller support out of the box. the hand-drawn artwork is great, and the game even lets you switch between the original looks and music and the remade visuals and sound. As a game, there are a LOT of cheap shots that can't really be avoided, especially with the bosses. The character is too slow and his jump is too small to give him any real maneuverability to dodge ANYTHING, and there are many instances where you get juggled by the baddies. This is reminiscent of games back in the day that did such a thing, but one would think that remaking a game would remove such an unfair part of the mechanics!
