Dragonfall's cast of characters were very memorable and I enjoyed navigating the games story. Mechanically the game's encounters weren't very challenging but the story more than made up for it. Be sure to check out the fan mods and campaigns for shadow run a few good gems out there.

Act 1 the game felt okay but I honestly wasn't having as much fun as I did in Project Warlock 1. Then Act 2 (I guess I'm a sucker for magic westerns) and it's weapons really clicked for me and then in Act 3 the weapons were really fun but I was not a fan of the sudden shift to space and the environments in those levels. I think I'd have like the game more if the story didn't feel like a prologue for each of the three characters but I guess their going to save their final confrontations for a Project Warlock 3. Also, flat out the music in Project Warlock 1 was amazing I could listen to Gatherum any time. The music for the sequel just wasn't quite as memorable not bad but not great. There were a couple tracks in Act 2 that were nice but thats about it. They've got the guns down, Act 1 and 2's levels were fine to good for me, but 3 I wish had more to them or at least different theme to better hook me.

I've gotten more than my moneys worth with the time I've spent playing this game solo and in multiplayer mode with friends. It's as close as you can get to playing the real deal on tabletop. If only the game officially supported players creating custom campaigns with the toolkit it would be truly perfect. I would rate it 4/5 stars because of that if not for the fact this is one of the best releases for a RPG in the tipple A scene in years.

The main combat mechanic was starting to get boring but thankfully the game was just the right length and ended at that point. The rock, paper, scissors mechanic of using this colored attack against this colored foe can only go so far. The story and exploration was pretty solid through and through however. To those who play make sure you stock up on items and potions and when you get to the final boss and reach a point where you feel like you can't do anything. Endure and in enduring grow strong.

When I bought the game I made mention of two strange bugs in the gog version of my original review a few days later the devs fixed both and so I had that review deleted to remake this. If your like me who was looking for a fire emblem where you get to manage the individual foot soldiers in squadrons along side heroes who lead them rather than just have a few individual unites take on entire armies on the battlefield or the general troops being relegated to background imagery during fight animations this is the game for you.

The trailers for this game always looked good and I went into it thinking oh this will just be a fun little thing to play but actually getting into it everything just syncs up so well enough nostalgia and refinements to it to make it amazing addition to anyone library. I'm still in the early game and haven't gotten all the companions, airships, or mechs yet but wow is it good. Trying to reach and maintain over dive without overextending and over heating adds a little extra to the combat and makes it more engaging. A few of the fights have had extra modifiers or things to manage to keep you on your toes too. There's a lot of love that went into this and is easy to see.
