A Legionary's Life

An RNG based slog

When reading the reviews I saw a lot about the RNG and how it was punishing. I typically don't put a lot of stock in those kind of reviews. Boy, was I wrong. Perfect Example: I perform well in a battle against soldiers and get promoted. While leading a squad on patrol, we are ambushed and I have to fight 2 bandits at one after getting wounded (without a skill check). They kill me. This was a RANDOM encounter with no stakes and not advancing the story at all. Oh and by the way. Because the game is such a slog and the RNG is so heavy, you basically play the same battles over and over maybe getting a little farther or doing a little worse. I have never made it past the 3rd act and know exactly what battle will kill me every time and no amount of preparation help. I suppose the game is supposed to be challenging but it does not feel great with the way its done. Give this one a pass.
