I know plenty of it is due to nostalgia, but I love this game. I love the power of the Shaman - it's very satisfying to wield the spells in strategic ways. The unit designs are charming and the little touches of life in them, like the warriors doing push-ups when left idle, show that a lot of care was put into the game. If you're looking for a unique, old-school RTS, I'd recommend it.
