The game is fantastic. It has a lot of gameplay mechanics and a potential for hundreds of hours of playing. The only downside of this game is it's so much advertised difficulty. The point is, as you probably know, that this game is quite hard. Even on beginner difficulty you may sometimes struggle in battles. Lots of people think that it's actually a nice thing, and so I thought myself before I played the game. But after some time I realised that this incredible gameplay mechanics diversity is unreachable because of the game's difficulty. You are just afraid to experiment, try something new or just go away from the road, because you are afraid to be killed. Every single creature in this game has a potentiall to kill your character, no matter how strong he is. And every single time you want to, for example, try out a new fighting strategy - you are afraid that characters that you want to survive will die. Moreover, the rewards for completing quests (which are sometimes just suicidal) aren't that high. Not once I took quests from a noble houses after which almost only a half of my party survived. And for sacrificing my men to orcs, I get ~1700 gold, which is barely enough to buy myself one decent two-handed axe. Sometimes even caravan escort missions are more rewarding that those risky noble houses missions. The game is great - stylish visuals, nice audio, fantastic music. But the balancing is quite weird and the difficulty is a bit too high. I don't say the game should be as easy as a walk in the flower garden, but too much of stress prevents you from experimenting and doing things that make games fun. Sadly, there are no mods that fix that. And even beginner difficulty feels rather unrewarding.
The game is good. The gameplay concept it has is just fabulous. The problem is that the game is not that polished (in fact, its very, VERY raw) and lots of gameplay mechanics are not developed enough to call them genius. A lot of work was done, but even more is yet to be, if the developers want to make the Foundation successful. I am refunding the game after 5 hours of gameplay, but I will gladly buy it again if it becomes a title as solid as SimCity4. The game is a raw, a very raw gem, which is yet to be polished. If you want to support the development of the game - go for it. Buy the game. You will certainly like the concept and the developers honest enough to develop the game until it's really done, and not leave in half-baked state like it happened to Gnomoria. If you don't really want to play a raw game with not that much content to play with - just wishlist the game and wait for it's full release. Im pretty sure it will become a solid game with huge potential.
Star Wars Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II, или же просто Dark Forces II, это сильнейший представитель олд-скульных шутеров. Каждая деталь этой игры неоспоримо хороша, кроме, конечно же, графики и совместимости, но это уже по причине старости игры и разработчик на это никак не мог повлиять. Поначалу игра кажется скучной и черезчур сухой - патронов сильно нехватает, здоровье быстро теряется, но как только вы достигаете светового меча и начинаете драться со штурмовиками - это становится поистинну великолепным зрелищем. Забегать в толпу из пяти-восьми человек и вырубать её одним ударом - непереносимое ощущение. Но помимо этого в игре есть очень большие и длинные уровни, которые почти не надоедают и сделаны так что всегда понятно куда идти и что делать (несмотря даже на то что в игре есть и лабиринты), вставки с живыми актёрами, которые, конечно, играют не очень хорошо, но стыда не вызывают и сюжет у игры хоть и набит клише, но он служит приятным дополнением а не основной целью игры. Кстати спецэффекты в этих сценах хорошие, и они довольно неплохо передают атмосферу игры Геймплейно игра просто умопромрачительно хороша - драки на световых мечах, джедайские и ситские способности превращают вас в мясорубку на двух ногах, а огромный арсенал из кучи видов оружий позволяет выносить врагов не то что толпами, а сотнями. Так же игру разбавляют схватки с тёмными джедаями через каждые два-три уровня, и прокачка, позволяющая принять одну из двух сторон силы и прокачивать 8 способностей на выбор. Есть проблемы с графикой - при попытке включения 3D ускорителя в игре просто вылезает чёрный экран с интерфейсом и звуками игры, но без графики. Такое есть не у многих, но лично мне это очень мешает так как я не могу играть в 1080р и наслаждаться более хорошей графикой. Крайне советую с ознакомлением, каких бы денег игра не стоила (кстати к ней в комплект дают Mysteries of Syth - дополнение со своим сюжетом и нововведениями). 4 звезды из 5, из-за проблем с совместимостью. Это шедевр.
