Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Enhanced Plus Edition

You are going to be here for a while...

...and for all the wrong reasons. The plot of the game is fine, with some engaging quests and interesting mechanics. But it's all overshadowed by how much time the game wants You to waste on random systems. The game is about 160 hours long. A fair amout of this time is either traveling through an overworld (and you will be traveling A LOT) at a snails pace or resting because You got fatigue from traveling. It also has very engaging random encounters while You travel to slow You down even more. There are perception checks while You travel that reveal hidden locations crucial to the plot but You dont know where those are so You will be traveling even more to find them. You will also be resting even more because the game loves throwing enemies that do ability damage or drain levels. Do Yourself a favour and download at least a fast travel mod.

Against the Storm

Hard to put down

Even in eraly access this feels like a well polished and feature-rich game. It's something very different from other city builders which are usually more sandboxy. Here You have a set goal and a time limit to achieve it and every game is slightly different with randomized buildings, perks, races, objectives, differentt biomes, modifiers, new meta-progression upgrades and a lot more. Also beacause You play in relatively short bursts I feel a lot less "burnout" but it definetely hast that "just one more game before bed" feel to it. Overall a very pleasant and interesting experience, lets see if it can keep up with the high expectations set by the early access.

Pharaoh™: A New Era

Decent but far worse than original

The game looks good despite the controversial cartoony look, runs smoothly and is visually an overall decent imprvement. But mechanically - oh my, everything feels so incredibly clunky and unintuitive. The menus, building placement, screen scrolling (for the love of of everything thats holy PLEASE make the sceen scroll diagonal when you put the coursor in the corner!) it all feels like huge step back from the original (which is a major 'accomplishment' taking into accouint how old the base game is). If You have ever played the original game then make Yourself a favor and keep playing it instead of buying this. You will save Yourself a decent amount of money and an incredible amount of frustration.
