It's fair blend of economics and combat strategy game. Campaign story is linear and somewhat interesting. Voice acting and knight personalities and abilities are a welcome addition. Poor AI really ruins the combat side of the game, using knight in combat feels like cheating. If you send your knight first into the heat of battle, enemy troops will focus him and then you can just run around not getting hit while your few squads of archers mow down large armies. There are lots of bugs too, my main problem was game doesn't give you freedom or at least prevent you from ruining future quests. For example you wipe out enemy settlement, but 1 hour later get quest to spy retrieve information from there and so it's either load or restart mission.
Just finished whole campaign, it's long and pretty boring. Voice acting is terrible, narrative stupid, protagonists retards and overall quality of the game is a huge disappointment. Game has virtually next to none AI, there's no way for you to lose any map as somebody forgot to include attack algorithms. Everything feels half-assed as units just run around each other instead of battling. Strongest point of the game is in base building and the economy, which you'll always find yourself overharvesting as you usually end all maps with 20k of each resource as there's nothing to spend on as you aren't losing units or buildings because of bad AI, I think I lost like 2 units in the entire HARD campaign. And yes don't expect anything resembling original Settlers in this one.
