What can i say, music, sounds graphics, story without understandable words! everything meshes together to make this game just beautiful!
seriously, i was going to give this game as low a score as possible, after exhausting near 10 hours trying to get it to start the 1st race without freezing, until i turned off amd Raptr (i have this on because bandicam won't record without it) and boom works perfectly, then i research up that Raptr and Nvidia's DVR kill this game. now onto the game, it is a great game, a little bit too easy on the controls till you turn off all the assists, then it is hang time, nothing like hitting corners slideways in a TVR speed 12 at 180km/h or overtaking a honda nsx in a mustang on an uphill touge battle. the graphics are great for its age, works perfect for with xbox 360 controller.
i played this back in the day on a Compaq Persario 2240, my poor old Voodoo3 2000 PCI was bought soley to play this game, the $300+ for the card was worth it then, and i would glady pay the few coins GOG ask for this game. i love the challenge of it, not only was there split paths to take that could take you a different route altogether or just at a different start point in the next stage, but in some sections, like the LAB, you can either go LEROY JENKINS meets DUKE NUKEM, or you can go all METAL GEAR SOLID, it was a great alround game for its time, there were plenty of hiden easter eggs, including a not so PG Triangular breasts, took me 6 hours of exploring one stage to find that easter egg! Sure it had its run of bugs on release, but now, thanks to NGLIDE and GOG, it is near perfetion it should have been!
I remember playing this on a Compaq Persario 2240, i saved up and bought a brand new Voodoo3 2000 PCI gpu and the game got even better, yeah that's how old i am, now fast forward to 2016, i still love playing this game (have it on Steam). I Love this game, the controls are awesome and very intuitive, the graphics, for its time, are freaking awesome, the story is SICK AF, specially the 1st time you see the C........... sorry no spoilers here. i will add this, i suggest you mod it to bring it up a notch, took me months of trying to learn how to mod, and fail, till i came across this gem http://www.fsoinstaller.com/ simple installer, though does take a while due to size of some mods and your speed, it even includes a story where you play prior to the great war against an ancient race that has some sexy asp ships, if you do get stuck modding the community around fso installer are really helpful and some are super patient with noobs like me. will i ever stop playing this game, nope, because i suck but want all the medals. will i force my kids to play this, you bet your bottom dollar i will will my kids force their kids to play this, they better or else "that's a paddlin"
